B.O.V Question
Hey guys whats new well i have hit a wall on this one. Well right now i am running meth on the car and i am hitting 30 psi and that is all great but my new problem is my b.o.v i am on the stock ecu and the stock turbo and it is a evo 8 . I called AMS and they tald me Samco bov to use because of the stock ecu and it has to recirculate, well then i called Atlantic Motor sports and the told me to use the Turbo Smart bov and this other one called Synamps bov. Well i am at this point of guessing and if any has any good input on this one i would really appreciate it, thanks again.............
Oh snap he told you,lol idk it seems like its all preference really to the shops. What they've used and like and know what works. And how about a tial??they just came out with a new one the Q,but don't have a recirculated one yet
The hardest part of any valve is having it recirculate into the intake, and setting the spring pressure to avoid as much compressor surge as possible. Usually the best rule of thumb is to try and find the highest ratio of diaphragm area to valve area to allow for more surface area for the pressure to push against at high boost levels to keep the valve from leaking. Another trick I've found that works is replace as much of the rubber line running to the valve with some type of hard line to reduce any pressure loss from expansion (I actually use large diameter brake line for mine with flared ends and zip ties to act like clamps, it works phenomenally).

TiAl does make a new recirculated BOV, ETS sells it but IMO looks butt ugly, but Im sure its a great BOV if you need to be recirculated, called the Alpha Q:
