HKS Hi-Power catback

Just looking for some info here. Why would HKS make their exhaust only 75mm when it appears all other exhausts for the EVO are 80mm. Will there be a huge loss in performance compared to another exhaust?

75mm is 3 inches though isnt it? I've got the HKS universal carbon-ti muffler and it has a 75mm end that attaches to the RMR piping and it lines up perfectly.

here's a pic:

Just did a conversion using this conversion tool:

http://www.onlineconversion.com/length_common.htm

75 millimeter = 2.9527559 inch

80 millimeter = 3.1496063 inch

I kow what your saying Rob but if you look into all other Japanese manufacturers, they are all running 80mm.

There shouldn't be much of a difference because it's not really the size of the piping that counts. Of course, horsepower is the biggest concern along with back pressure, sound, and weight savings, but I guess it's more on what you prefer depending on how you want to tune your car. If you're just gonna do minor bolt-ons to your ride, might as well go with HKS. It's cheaper than a JIC exhaust, which I have.
