Help:Forge wastegate problem
Do you know how much psi your seeing just running wastegate pressure ??
what I mean by wastegate pressure = I turn off my boost controller do a 3rd gear pull I see a max of 20psi. (using Forge unit)

Roger: The way I see it after studying my Forge IX valve which is th same unit as yours, is that you should be able to get it up to 24 PSI "wastegate pressure" simply by cutting 1/4" off the threaded end of the actuator rod and dialing the turnbuckle in another four complete turns. Just cut it and eliminate the backup nut.
Like I said, I`ve cut them before. Just use a brand new hacksaw blade. I was able to chase the first thread with the same backup nut, as the rod cuts real clean. In fact there was no need to cleanup the thread afterwards.
The reason that you were able to get higher wastegate pressure with the FP WGA is that the FP unit is a 16-18 PSI minimum WGA. The Forge however is a more adjustable unit and once you add the additonal 1/4" of thread travel then you`ll appreciate the finer resolution of the Forge unit.
EDIT: If the extra 4 PSI of preload available by cutting the actuator rod isn't quite enough, then you should be able to cut another additional 3/8" of additional thread onto the remaining straight section of the actuator rod with a die before the bend in the rod.

I made 450WTQ on Buschur's dyno with pump/alky on a Green. Can I be a hero too? haha. I just hate the fact that I am going to have to modify a part where it would be a lot easier to just get the FP actuator. With the Forge's rod being cut 3/8ths is it as good or better than FP's when it comes to holding boost?
All of you guys making over 400WTQ from the Green are on my hero list...plain and simple! Kudos and hats off to all of you... Ace, Roger, et.al. congratulations, seriously! That sort of torque from a stock block especially the VIII's, as the MIVEC Evo's have an inherent edge with respect to torque production, is an amazing feat.

The FP HD actuator is a fine piece, and for the price it is a bargain no doubt. In fact, I happen to be running one currently on my Green. It does well when you are running relatively high levels of boost as with Meth.
There are a few drawbacks to the FP in my opinion however. On a 91 octane tune that holds boost to under 23 PSI it has a notorious boost spike which will elevate boost above your target level. Also, obviously since it is a 16-18 PSI minimum WGA, then boost cannot be dialed down lower than that minimum. This would make a valet mode more problematic. Well, that's only two reasons.

too.
I decided to tackle the job today ,I cut off about 1/4 to 3/8 piece off the rod and now I can preload the wastegate all the way to the end of the threads.
(I took off the jam nut)
But My car is low on E85 fuel and the nearest E85 gas station is closed so I won't be testing it till tomorrow night. I will keep everybody posted.

I did a 3rd gear pull running just wastegate pressure this morning and I hit 25psi 
I will dial in my boost controller tonight and we shall find out how well it holds boost up top. Hope it holds atleast 24psi..
