Maxing out the 9 turbo on 91 & Meth
OK well I thought we could start posting our boost and timing data to help each other out ...I am running a 9 turbo in california (91 octane) with 100% Meth and mods in signature. I have been playing with boost and timing with the hopes of finding the optimal mix for power. Right now I am peaking around 28 at 4100 rpm and tapering to 21psi at 7400, but am still seeing some knock around 6K rpm so I may need to take another 1 psi out. I had really hoped to run more like 30 psi peak tapering to 24, but I just can't seem to get that to work on 91 ....
My timing goes from ~4* (in the 3800 area) to 14* (7400)
AFRs are ~10.8 to 11.2
So any thoughts? Do my numbers seem off? Am I just blowing lots of hot air ? Should I decrease the boost to 27 tapering to 19/20? Thanks in advance

Sounds about what I run, perhaps a tad low on the top end. What's your timing like at 6000-6500? That's where you're making peak power. My car is running about 13-14 right there on BP 91 or 92 here in MN, 29psi peak, 24psi up top.
meth helps cool down the hot air.. i would suggest going higher until u dont see any power gains. you could download data log labs and use that to monitor it. just make sure you go down the same patch of road to make it more consistent. if you are aiming for peak power i would suggest adjusting your bcs settings to hold more boost up top. you may need to add preload on your wastegate to help as well. keep us posted on what you find.
your timing of 14* uptop seems way way to low. I would increase that to around 20. your knocking I bet because your air/fuel is to rich and such low timing your probably making tons of fireballs causing the knock sensor to pick it up as knock.

Are you able to peak at 29 and hold 24 at redline (7500 rpm) and not have knock on 91/92 and Meth? If so, I'd love to know how...

tapering to 21psi is fine, more boost does not always mean more power. Crank down your wga for a bit more hold up top.
Interesting advice on the timing -- I thought if I was knocking that I should pull timing...But with Meth you suspect I need to add timing?? I'll try it and see...

buddy of mine has supporting mods plus meth kit and is running 32 psi, i dont know how all i can say is kevinD can tune like no other... im just waiting for his turbo to go out.... hes putting down 420 awhp last time i asked him
on 91 + Meth ??? My guess is he runs 93 + Meth
....
