exedy twin, I'm getting this installed in the summer since i plan on making 450-500hp with my build. from what i hear it will handle anything you throw at it.

I have read mixed reviews on drivability though, does anyone want to chime in on it? Is it hard to get used to?

90% of people are going to tell you Exedy Twin. This is for good reason. I think it is actually easier to drive than the Act 2600 with exedy flywheel combo I had. Engages nice and smooth, easy to take off smooth with, holds enough power for most people, rebuildable, and reliable. Just be sure you get the updated version of it that uses the stock throwout bearing.

i was on a few other forums and some people were sayin the twin disk is good but wears pretty quickly if you daily it and that its pretty rough......"alloutdsm" what exactly do you mean by lockout? i was looking at the act 6puck and the act heavy duty they are both rated pretty high to hold some power.

act does make good parts dont get me wrong but there has been alot of issues with high rpm lockout.. IMHO your better off spending a little more cash on an exedy or tilton.. just my .02

as far as the twin HD wear is about the same ok im on my second one, but then again rebuild kits are around 450 bills depending on were you get them thats alot better then 7-900 DLS everytime

its not really a little bit more...its twice as much, so if youre on a budget, get the ACT HDSS, if not exedy twin...

lol rough for a daily? I understand driveability differs from driver to driver, but it's not rough for a daily by any means. I daily drove my Evo with an Exedy twin for roughly 12k miles.

After fully building my Evo and really pushing some power, I've ran into the throw out retainer clip popping off issue..not once or twice..but FOUR time Each time we used a new retainer clip and it would drive around just fine, but when it was time to turn up the wick and do some racing..the clip would always pop out going into 4th gear.

My suggestion would be to go ahead and invest in the push conversion kit and eliminate the possibilty of the clip popping out. This time I decided to ditch the Exedy altogethor, I went with a Quartermaster twin disc setup. Apparently the QM is way too aggressive for daily driving..I'm sure it'll be ok though.
