So? Built means what? How does the variable relating to whether or not a motor is built, get factored into the equation? Please explain!

Does SB recommend that as a breakin oil?

Yes, they told me to put that oil 20-50 ( they are sending me a couple of cases ) and warm up the engine the first time the motor is turned on. After it is warm I should take the oil and filter out and put them new. Then I should run the car for probably 200 miles and do it again. Then at 1000 and the motor is ready to run at 100%.

They built your engine and they warranty their work. So, follow their breakin instructions to the letter. Fire it up and let it warm up for twenty minutes the first time and follow their RPM restrictions. Then shut it off and drain the oil and change the oil and filter. After breakin, then you can switch over to a full synthetic. Stay out of boost until you switch over to the full synhetic after breakin. Good Luck!

builder said to use 5w30 Built 2.3L all the time. So I am going to do so. Use to run on stock block, 5w30 cold months, 10w30 warmer months. Better spool on 5w30

BECAUSE..... built engines are made to different tolerances than factory engines, 99% of the time looser.

your engine builder tells you what oil to run based on the tolerances.

that is why mitsu recommends a 5/10W-30 and most people with a built engines run thicker oil
