I/C piping

My friend offered to give me his Injen i/c pipes (got rid of his Evo), so I was wondering if I would see any gains putting them on right now, without getting tuned. I won't be able to get tuned for at least a month. Should I put them on, or will they mess with my current tune? Will I see any gains at all? Please keep the "Injen kit sucks" comments down, considering I am getting these for free.

I haven't read neither good or bad reviews about them, but I've seen quite a few people using them. I'm certain you won't do any harm using them. The LICP is where most of the gains are.

Being untuned for them shouldn't be a huge deal, but a tune ALWAYS helps

without a tune you won't see anything substantial

But most importantly, will it mess with my current tune? (I probably would just put the LICP on and forget about the intake and UICP).

It won't mess it up, no. If you put on the lower pipe, you probably won't notice a difference. You would need to get tuned for any noticeable advantage. That goes for basically any bolt on part.

With the UICP... You won't see any difference, even with a tune on a car like yours.. The LICP is where you make the power, but you need a tune to see the potential of that lower pipe.. Sure, you can drive the car without a tune with these parts, you just want get any extra power.. Good luck.
