Throttle body idle screw setting?

Recently my IAC Valve went out and I needed to replace it. While waiting for my new one, I turned the screw on the back of the throttle body out roughly 3 turns so the car wouldn't stall out at stops. I installed the new IAC Valve, turned the screw back and all seems pretty good. Is there a sure way to know my screw is set right? I heard something once like.. all the way in, then 2.5 turns out? True or myth?

Thanks in advance!

You need an ecuflash cable to properly set it. You set the SAS mode using Evoscan and then adjust the screw to around 850 RPM +/- 50
