Twinscroll 35R or HTA35R

I'm looking to do a whole new build. I've been on the forums for a while with over 1k posts. I've done my search and cant seem to find a TS35R vs HTA35R thread; all i find is single scroll vs HTA or TS vs single scroll.

my question is very simple and i would like some professional insight. I'd like to see input on people who have done both of these.

My current setup is a Single Scroll 35r. I make roughly 460whp but the lag is not my cup of tea. I'd like to be over 500whp on pump and over 600 on race fuel.

No comments by people who have neither please UNLESS you have a friend....

Ya have a basic 35R on my car and My Friend has the HTA 35R and all I can say is that HTA35R's kick *** His spools up much, much faster The HTA 35R has my vote and will probably be one of my next upgrades If you are comparing a twin scroll to a HTA I pick HTA

I have a TS HTA35R on my car, right now. I used to have a single 35R on the car. If you want absolute minimum lag and best possible street feel for a turbo this size, get TS HTA35R. It's the best of all worlds. There is no better way to do it.

What rpm would you guess I will see 20psi of boost on a TS HTA35. The motor is a 9.5:1 2.23L. Thanks Ted.

I see 20 psi right at 4000 rpm with a 2.0L. Yours should be faster. You can't ask for better than that from a 700+whp turbo.

No one can answer that question definitely just yet. At the present however, given what has already been done with TS T4 turbine sides, there is no indication that a 1.06 TS T4 is too small for anything short of 900whp.

If thats the case why aren't we seeing any TS HTA86 combinations? I would rather run the 86 than the 82, but I was under the impression that the 1.06 housing would be too restrictive to make use of the top end power. Maybe I'll be the test mule.

Possibly because most present TS cars are primarily street cars, and the HTA82 (a 700whp turbo) gives quicker spool response.

Ted do you know the surface area of the volute on a T3 .82 housing compared to a a TS T4 1.06?
