Walbro 255 low pressure good enough???

I recently bought an 05 evo and was wanting to do some mods to it. Nothing too crazy, just basic stuff to get it mid to low 12's, maybe high 11's. I checked the fuel pump in it and it already has a walbro 255, but it's not the high pressure one. Will it still be good enough for my goals with the car or should I get the high pressure one?

What part number do you have in there? What do you mean by the Low pressure one? I thought they made a 190lph and a 255lph both measurements of volume not pressure, the Fuel pressure regulator is what maintains the pressure.

Some Walbros (e.g. 255lph) come in low and high pressure versions. The LP versions are for normally aspirated cars, and AFAIK, their flow capacity drops more rapidly as line pressure is elevated (i.e. as a result of turbo pressure). If one has a factory sized turbo and uses pump gasoline, he'll probably be ok. It's always better however to get the proper 'HP' pump.

If you have a part #GSS317 pump its a 255lph low pressure/standard. If you have the GSS342 like the one we have the special on, its part #GSS342.

Your installation kit/filter kit will be a 400-847.

Hope that helps.
