PICS Bup NOW!!!t-case seal!-t-case leaking fluid. SUGGESTIONS?

so on my evo 8 t-case with no acd.
is leaking fluid out the passenger side extit hole for the axel.
now this t-case seal i belive the donut blackrubber thing may be bad? does this seal hold all t-case fluids in from leaking out?

also on my axel there is a hub thing that inserts into the t-case its liek a cup! we all have it on our axels!

well my cup is bent up; does this cup hold in fluids also? what is the cups purpose? i may have to go to a junk yard and get one off a glant they have the same size cup looking thing i belive.

so the fluid only leaks out well flys out when i drive because the spinning t-case thorws it everywhere.

any ideas has anyone had this problem??
does the cup matter?

the axle seal is easy to replace, and the tcase only hold half a quart of fluid so to answer your question no i dont think it will **** fluid if you remove it... but for sh*ts and giggles jack it up from the passenger side and you should be alright..

as for the cup im not sure what you speak of....????

Yea it is really easy to replace. Mine was leaking on my 05 when I bought it and when mitsubishi inspected it after I got the car they told me my downpipe rubbing against my tcase made a hole in the tcase and that cause the leak and voided my warranty. I don't suggest going to Mitsubishi for anything for this reason. The part costs about $15. I am not 100% sure about the cup either but it does look to keep that seal in place.

haha yes $15 just pick up the outer sel just now! also the cup thing is located on the uv jont of teh axel it should sit in this seal! (dealership said this cup just keeps dirt out)
so i think sense my cup is loose it pushed the seal in to far or damaged it.

so i will solve it today>

i dont have a problem changeing the seal sense i just droped in a new motor.
but thanks it always helps to talk and get other ideas ! somtimes i cant think straight with all the school im doing

dont loose the small amount of fluid your TC holds, in other words dont let it all leak out without refilling, TC's are very delicate they blow too easy when low on fluid

This is the point where you say "Don't forget to fill it back up with some fresh amsoil"

so i changed the outer seal! i thought for sure it would work!

nope still leaking i took a few pics of where it leaking right after i drove a few blocks.

yes you may wounder why i welded my cup cover that is on teh cvboot because it keeps sliding off so i spot weled it in place!

i dont know maybe i need to push the cup in to the t-case more mybe ! but it should'nt matter the rubber seal holds all fluids in the t-case.

The cup thing you refer to is probably the outer housing of the inner constant velocity joint. You say it is dented. Well it is made of steel and quite thick steel at that. I suggest to examine this closely because, if it really is dented, your vehicle has struck something and there may be serious damage.

Thanks for the picture but it is blurry. If you are meaning the green part that is the outer housing for the CV joint. I think I see a dent on the backside that looks like somebody applied too much force when trying to remove the axle. If it is not deformed on the inside it should be okay. Otherwise, replace it.

The axle seals are easy to damage when inserting the axle. Take special care not to allow the splines to touch the seal.
