Recirculating the air will help with spool. You will lose response on a stock turbo by not recirculating.

This is an interesting subject though.

Of course there's always someone saying "why do this" and the answer is simple, any gearhead love the sounds his car makes, BOVs can sound cool when setup right

Response time lost could be .0009 sec. If it was really an issue, drag/TA cars wouldn't use them.

Its not just to sound cool, I have a Tial and am running 35psi, you can hardly hear my valve. Basically before Tial came out with a recirc valve the tightest valves were always VTA due to design for maximum performance.

To the OP, stick with a recirc valve unless you are running a standalone. TO switch to a blow through setup just for the BOV is just dumb and a waste of time and money (no offense)

Im definetly not installing a BOV just for the sound, trying to look for what will cause the opt performance when replacing the turbo. if i only cared bout sound id just stick a whistle on a recirced BOV at like 95% recirc and 5% released if that even possible if not pointless lol

cars like the br race evo run stand alone engine managment, so it's not really an issue for them. This more catered towards daily driven and street cars running factory ecu's.

I run the same DV. I think it is the best because you can adjust the spring rate on the fly. Was really able to fine to it so there is no stutter when I go WOT to like 25% throttle. You can also switch it around either way and it makes two different sounds. I switch every month or so to change things around a bit.
