hta 35 dumppipe
i´m having some trouble with wastegates dumppipe. seems that most people leave it in the air. and turbo producers recomend it too. for severeal reasons i would like to route it back to exhaust. thought, that it is ok, to do so after the curve, where exhaust is horizontal already. i can see why it is left outside and why it is bad to route it back right after turbo... but cant figure out what harm can come from routing it back little further away.
due to fackt, that it is complicated to install it both ways, just to find out how big is the power loss, if any... maybe some of you guys been on that road already?

It can have a bit of power loss to dump it back in the exhaust. Most of the kits come that way I think because most people would rather not hear the wastegate open cause it can be loud! Really I think it just matters what angle the company puts the dump tube at to go back into the exhaust to determine how it will affect the power. The exhaust is flowing at x angle, and the wastegate dump is coming in at y angle, and thats was cause a restriction in the DP resulting in a power loss. On some cars that i've worked on, i've had customers tell me that they've noticed a difference in power once they went to a setup that dumps to the atmosphere,
