Will painting IC affect..?

performance? I live in cali, and cops are getting strict in this area. I want to use black enamel from can. Only one coat, maybe two. I need to be stealth so they think its a radiator, lol

IIRC Light coats won't affect anything. At least that's all i've read. I've yet to see someone get hotter intake temps with a painted IC

Technically? Yes. Will you notice? No. Do it (light coats) if you feel it's going to help your steathiness

just use radiator paint and coat away. Or even better get the black heat dispersant coating. Kill 2 birds with one evo!

Flat black will help dissipate the heat and will not hinder performance one bit.

Don't do it. It's totally unnecessary. I just can't believe you guys have all these problems with cops. I've been in SD for over 2 years and I've never been pulled over in my evo.

I've never heard anyone getting pulled over or cited for a aftermarket intercooler.
Not worth painting it imo.

painting will affect the temps slightly... i think the the special paints as stated make it not as bad.
im all in for the stealth look, looks a whole lot cleaner especially on a black car!

Intercoolers are legal here in California, but if you still wanna paint it black, go for it mang! It won't hurt the performance of the car......i think about it....BLACK PAINT, painted on a Intercooler, **** won't do anything but make it look black and stealthy! [:
