HKS HiPower vs B&B

I'm struck between getting the B&B full turbo back, or the HKS hipower with the dp and cat delete. I hear B&B has impressive gains, but how about the HKS? I love HKS products and I love the way the HKS hi power sounds.. but the B&B's piping design looks really really well constructed.

What's everyone's input?

I go with HKS dp and catback. I need to retain the stock cat for emission problem here.

If you looking for more HP gain, B&B will be the best since it's turbo back (running test pipe). If you looking for sounds and look, HKS sound really good IMO.

I have the B&B and it sounds great. Not to loud and a good throaty tone (especially at idle and low RPMs). After the installation I could definitely feel a difference. I have just the DP and cat back on now and I will add the delete pipe when I gat an O2 sensor fix next week. I did race my friend after getting it installed and I am not much faster then him, only about a ½ car length from 40 to 70 mph in third gear. I think his Evo was more powerful from the factory. Others were having fitment problems with the flanges but I just brought mine to an exhaust shop and they had no trouble with it. If you would like to know more just let me know.

probly not as much with the hks cuz the dp is 2.65 inches and the exhuast is 2.95 inches vs the full three inches of the B&B.

Yeah , doesn't sound like much but may be good for a hp or two

I would personally pick B&B over HKS simply because it has been dyno proven to give you almost 30 whp (turbo back) That is just sick ! Contrary to popular belief , Japanese isn't ALWAYS better and you are also paying for import fees and customs charges where as with a good solid US company , it is all product and R&D !

good points, drc... of course.

I'm leaning towards the B&B now, I just like having "name" products because of reliability. Maybe i'll give B&b a shot tho

Sorry to correct you but 2.95 vs 3 is less than 5%

3/2.95 - 1 = .017 So the 3in exhuast is about 1.7% bigger than teh HKS one.

Let me know either way because I sell HKS as well. B&B will be quite a bit quicker to ship because I THINK the HKS are now on backorder and my supplier has B&B in stock and ready to ship. $999 plus shipping for full turbo back. Let me know if you see it elswhere for cheaper and I will take care of the price and work with you to get you the performance you deserve for your money but I have been looking around and $999 is the lowest I have seen. Let me know !

I went with B&B for meny reasons.

1 3in all the way throw
2 regulaure Muffler instead of a N1 style that sits to low and burns the bumper.
3 B&B quility is very good this will be my 3rd B&B exhaust
4 Sound not to loud but there.
5 power yes sir this thing makes it
6 Fits perfect great tip.
7 Wife aproved!!!

Hks.

Very nice looking and just a hair to loud for me (had the TI on my WRX). Makes power but thier down pipe is not 3in. Not good. Also I had a problem with the flex joint on my hks failing no customer support post sale so I'm not to keen of laying out my hard earned cash on HKS stuff any more. People are rude and every time you call they treat you like your luck to talk to them. No thank you.

Eric

HKS! If you want good performance along with a nice look go with the HKS. In my experience American exhaust manufacturers for import cars look unimpressive.
