Question about timing belt service...

I'm getting ready to do my timing belt and I am wondering how crucial it is to replace the balance shaft tensioner and idler pulley. I had planned on replacing the timing belt, water pump, t-belt tensioner and balance shaft belt. I looked at the timing belt kit on mitsuparts.net but I can save some money and get the parts quicker through my local Mitsu dealer if I don't do the idler and tensioner for the balance shaft belt. Just looking for other opinions. I am not trying to skimp on maintainence but I'm really tight on money right now. I'd rather take this 60k service money and blow it at CBRD, but I can't make that happen right now! hehe. Thanks for any input.

i would say its worth spending the extra cash now, it could possibly save you alot in the future.

heres what happens when the previous owner of your car dosnt replace the tb tensioner when he does a new timing belt and it decides to give out on you. alot of $ in damage for a $75 part.

on a different note i have a bnib oem metal headgasket and bnib gates racing balance shaft belt if your interested in buying either.

good luck with the tb job

Thanks. I'm going to order the kit from mistuparts.net tomorrow. I have a technician friend of mine that has done a couple 4G63 timing belts that is going to do mine for me.

Here is our TBelt service package which includes all critical parts.

The TBelt and bshaft belt we sell separately to allow the customer to decide on OEM or Gates RB kevlar belt options.
