Question Flat spot during WOT?

Last weekend on a little road trip I started to notice something odd. I was in 5th gear @3k rpm and went WOT to pass a car and noticed that the rpm's were going up but had zero power, by 4.5k rpm power came back and pulled like normal. This has been happening in any gear during WOT, feels fine during partial throttle runs though. On my way to work this morning it did the same thing in 3rd gear @ WOT. No check engine lights or anything.......anyone have an idea whats going on?

Thanks

I have this same problem in 5th. Only 5th... Cruising on the highway @ 75-80 leaves me around 3400-3700 rpm. If I go WOT before lets say 4500, I get a bogging feel. And the rpm's move soo slow... It feels much better to ease into the throttle (say 50-70%) till around 4000+. But if I start my pull in 4th, shift to 5th, everything feels normal... and as far as I know/feel my clutch is fine!

Isnt the 2600 around stock pressure? I doubt its the clutch if the power comes back at 4500rpm. Usually it will slip to redline. Does it jump for 3k to 4.5k really quick and kind of hold it there for a little bit and start climbing again? If yes, then its the clutch, if no then you have another problem. Do you have a wideband?

I just came back from lunch and did a couple of WOT runs in 3rd and 4th gear. In 3rd I went WOT @ 2k boost hit 20 psi than @ 3k boost goes down to 16 psi and from 3k-4.5k the rpm's are moving but with zero power than I feel a jolt and it pulls like normal boosting 17-18 psi the rest of the way. I don't know what to make of it, it just started to happen. could be a clutch but now my friend is saying it's ecu related, maybe a bad tank of gas?

are you tuned?

it sounds like your clutch, when it slips there is no longer as much of a load on the engine and the boost will drop, then when the clutch regains grip boost will rise again

I'm 100% bone stock. I'm modding it very soon though with all the basic bolt ons.
So then for sure my clutch is slipping and needs to be replaced. I've been going nuts all morning searching the forums about clutch's......too many mixed reviews so I don't know what to get. This is my daily driver street car and it will never see the track and I never launch the car, I drive normal with the occasional WOT passes. Looking for a clutch that feels like stock but can handle 350whp.

I need a clutch bad and found three in my price range. What do you guys think about these:

ACT HDSS
Fidanza 2.1 carbon/kevlar
Exedy stage 1 organic clutch

Looking to spend $500-800 for the clutch.
Thanks guys

So which set up should I go with? I've been seeing so many mixed reviews on various clutchs, I'm so confused right now.
