issue with my basically new clutch, maybe someone can help?
So, I was just out driving my car, and I had the Fidanza 3.2 clutch put on about 2000 miles ago. I properly broke it in, and have loved it so far. It was holding awesome. I just tried launching on it for the first time though, and it just did nothing. RPM's flew up and the car went nowhere. Like I burned it up or something. I drove around for a minute and tried it again but did it lighter, and without the launch control. Did the same thing again. So I tried just going wot in second gear. As soon as I hit boost, the rpms fly up, and the car shudders a little bit, and doesn't go anywhere. Like the clutch can't hold anything any more. This was literally the first hard take off since I put in the clutch, and I figured at 2000 miles it would be fine. Keep in mind, this is their sprung 4 puck kevlar clutch, and when the previous owner had the car dynoed, it was about 330whp, 320 ft/lbs of torque, so I'm well within the clutches ability. I'm going to be going to back to the shop that installed it on monday, but for the next couple days, I can't do anything. I should also mention that once or twice in the couple months I've had the clutch, if I really go wot on the free way, occasionally the clutch pedal would feel like it slightly sunk down and didn't come all the way back up, but when I bumped it back up with my foot, it was fine and I couldn't make it do it again. Could this be an install issue? A faulty clutch? Did I mess something up? Also, I've had a WRX before this, and know how to launch an AWD car without abusing it, so I'm guessing I didn't do something wrong, but who knows I guess? Any help from anyone would be fantastic. Thanks in advance.
Check your clutch lines I had the an issue similar to this,my lower clutch line had snaped at the end where it flares. It leaked and then seperated the the throw out bearing, I am now upgrading the clutch lines.
kind of an update on this. I let the car cool down, and it can hold perfectly fine going wot from a roll now. So I'm guessing I must have just glazed it or something when I tried to launch it. But the other issues still remain. If I try to launch it at all, the rpms just fly up and it doesn't go anywhere basically. I'm going to give it another whirl today. See if I can get it to hold at all. The problem is that when I try to launch it lightly, it just bogs anyways, which doesn't really show me anything, since it obviously won't slip when the car bogs. I guess if anyone else has any more possible suggestions or input, let me know. I'll be taking in to the shop tomorrow and seeing what they have to say though.
