Question Cat life?

Generally speaking, how long does the stock catalytic converter last? I'm at 104k in my 2003 VIII and that is all stock.

I've chased a few boost leaks out and updated my flash, but I still have a problem where the upper range throttle response is going flat. Low - mid end is crisp, it spools up and the boost needle jumps to attention showing the proper numbers. The thing whistles like a big rig while on boost. But the more I push it, the more it feels like it doesn't want to go.

I was wondering if an older cat could be clogging up the works. There aren't enough Evo's in my area to fill a driveway, so there aren't any local resources to check with.

Better buy an intake, turboback exhaust, and a MBC just to find out

I'd say it is when the oxygen sensor behind the cat says the cat is shot and sets a code. That is why the Feds made the maker put an oxygen sensor there - to check for a bad cat.

yea i agree that u should get a CEL if your cat is bad. i would suggest and intake and exhuast with a high flow cat however. if u like the stockish look/ sound than the cobb would be good for u.

also how old r ur plugs??

Would you be interesting in trading your old cat for a slightly used works hfc?
I'm looking for a used stock evo 8 cat for a small project. As long as the heat shield on it is in good condition.

PM me.
