Stock block/pump power?

My new motor is not quite done yet but the rest of the car is ready to go. I was thinking about just putting it all together with the stock motor and putting it on pump gas.

What is the highest horse power that anyone has seen with a stock block and pump (no meth or alcohol)?

i think the official record is like 704 ..but that was one run on a dyno and that was it. i dont think anything above 450 is safe really

i dont think its worth pushing it to the max, id rather build anything over 450, you dont want a random $4000 bill

I actually have a built shorty to put in. I think they are stronger than they are typically given credit for though. Its all about tuning though, you get too aggressive on any motor (built or not) and it will fail.

Ray saw what I did I think and wants to play today

I agree though that the "normal" limit is 450-475 for safe and reliable.

Aaron (johnBradley) Made some good power last night.

Stock block
pump 92
ETS HTA86 kit
GSC S2's

He got it up to 537 but it had a gnarly misfire right before peak power, the car might see the dyno again, but at this point we are not sure.
