Transmission Bell Housing Material?

looking to get information on what the bell housing is made of
long story short, the corner was cracked off during a clutch install and im looking to see if it can get welded back on
any info would be great

Cast Aluminum. It can be TIG welded depending on the condition of the housing, and the damaged area will need to be surgically clean.

It is aluminum for sure. if it was magnesium like the valve cover it would have MG stamped on it. Check it with a magnet, it wont stick.
