i have an evo 8 with 5 speed tranny. it have 5th gear grind in high speed shift, i was told that synchromesh oil will help. can i use the pennzoil synchromesh or the amsoil syndromesh? how often do you have to change the oil if i use snydromesh instead of the regular synthetic tranny fluid?

 

you are going to get too many different answers form the evom members, everyone has their oil of choice.

you grinding syncros is either bad syncros or you need to give you clutch a little adjusment.

oil's are not mechanics in a bottle they will not fully cure those symthoms,

our AMSOIL fluid MTG GL4 has done very well for customers and it is an 100% sysnthetic fluid.

 

Using syncroshift did nothing to alleviate my 5th gear grind. Jus sayin.

 

I have been using Pennzoil Syncomesh in my tranny for 100k now. To be honest I don't think it will do anything for your grind. But the fluid definitely works well in our trans

Change every 6-10k here

 

i use the amoil and it works great.. it did help my 5th grind
