I dont know excatlly what the problem is but i was blowing the dust out so to say and when i would tack about 4500 the turbo will stall and not go any faster. it soes this in every gear. if any one has any ideas on why this would happen let me know.
its a 03 evo8

Boost leak or maybe your wastegate is getting stuck open. gl with it.

 

Thanks for the quick replys. If the wastegate is staying open would that cause it to stall in every gear at about 4 grand....the car has been geared really low anyways

 

Does it jerk and stall? if it just hits 4 grand and then stops building boost there is either a leak or something that wont allow the turbo to spin any faster.

 

when u get to about 4 grand it sputters and wont build any more boost. I drove it today and now it wont build more than 5 pounds of boost. I got it checked and they said that the wastegate is opening and closeing not allowing it to blow out...sound right?
