Exhaust Leak in the Head? HELP

I have a problem like it says above. I was driving to the pizza place to get a pie for dinner. When I get out of the car it was still running with the turbo timer. Then I notice what sounds like an exhaust leak. When I got home the leak was still there but funny thing I didn't smell any exhaust I leave the car running and try and sniff it out and I smell nothing. I look closer and the sounds seems like it coming from the exhaust side of the head but inside the valve cover This leak sounds will go away when the car is reving down in a gear but when building RPM it will get louder and louder.

Any ideas that anyone can shoot to me will be appreciated

Lifter tap sounds a lot like an exhaust leak. May be that.

Does anyone think it could be something screwed up with a valve spring's or retainer?

Would they just start doing that all of a sudden from cruising around town?

So can anyone tell me does a collapes lifter sound like an exhaust leak? I should say would a collapes lifter leave the valve open and then you would hear an exhaust leak inside the valve cover?

Ok I have to bump this I have checked and searched every resource I can think of on this forum and just google search in genaral and I can't find any information on an exhaust leaking sound inside the valve cover. Any engine builder anyone out there who can give me an idea? BTW the oil light does not flicker at all or come on. I know it's not any of the rod bearings cause i know what that sounds like in a inline 4cyl. There is no extreme tapping sound but an actually exhaust sound in the valve cover area of the head.

lifter are sound. Injectors ticking are also sound like exhaust leakage. A lot time when oil is low or dirty it will cause the lifter to tick really loud. change your oil and see if it helps. Or maybe it's time for you to bleed and clean your lifters.
