Low compression cylinder 2
Low compression cylinder 2
My car started to smell a bit like burnt oil and started exhaling smoke out of my HKS blow off valve which is on my uicp in between shifts. I checked the compression and cylinder 2 was about 14 PSI lower than the rest. I put a bit of oil in it to check if it was the rings but that made little to no difference. Does anyone have any ideas to what it could be? Someone told me I might have burnt the valve stem seal on that cylinder which would explain the smoke but that still wouldnt effect the compression . The car doesnt really seem to be blowing smoke out the exhaust pipe and doesnt really burn a noticeable amount of oil....its still reads full on the dipstick. Also when I opened the oil cap with the car off it smoked a little bit and with the engine runing there is quiet a bit of air coming out of the oil cap hole.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. By the way he car has about 67000 miles on the original engine.

The compression and oil use may be two separate issues. A fourteen psi difference isn't nessisarily a big deal, what you need to worry about is a significant difference in compression between cylinders, ie 165, 165 130 165 or the like. I wouldn't worry too much about it. However if you are still concerned, have a leakdown check performed, which will tell you if and where you are losing seal at.
Pull off your upper charge pipe and check for oil pudding in the throttle body and piping. A turbo that has lost it's center cartridge oil seal can put oil in either the charge side, or hot side, or both.
