Help me choose a clutch!!!!!
I have ACT XTG6 and I like it. I do lunches sometimes and i can't smell burned disk. (I guess its grabing no problem.) I'm at 333Whp 314 wTq , 25 psi stock size wheels. I had this clutch for half a year. Pedal is stiff , still got used to it. DD car.

Yea i'd be all sold on exedy but i dont want that damn clip popping off. I don't have a garage and even if i did I'd rather cut off my own arm with a plastic butter knife than pull an evo trans because the damn clip popped off the clutch. So It looks like its Spec for me. Its push style and I haven't heard too many bad things. Now who has the very best prices on twins?

If you chose an exedy twin Mm022sd you would have slipping issues. If you chose a tilton twin hybrid, you would have slipping issues, if you chose a tilton twin cerametallic, you would have spline wear and worn discs hubs, if you chose tilton carbon carbon $5200, you would have a great clutch, if you chose the $1500 exedy twin MM022HD, you would have a great clutch with the possibility of popping the TOB clip.
Saying XXXX brand clutch has issues, only shows how little one even knows about clutches in the first place.
If you went to McDonalds and thought the chicken nuggets sucked, would you say the BigMac sucks too without even trying it?
ACT has about 16 different models. When you choose the wrong model for an application you will have poor results.

ACT does make some good stuff, and a good amount of people have never had problems with anything they make. With a high revving engine like the 4g63 you need to be very selective with what clutch you choose for your goals/purpose. I gave ACT a try in my turboed Prelude when I did a tranny swap, and I had lockout issues going up to 7000+ rpm. I guess I just picked a bad clutch for my setup. Now I know comparing apples to oranges like the 4g63 and the H22A, but I had an issue with one of their clutches, so i steered clear when I started modding the Evo. It was just a personal choice, and I had read that others had had similar issues with ACT clutches they had put in their car.
Now, I went with the Exedy Twin HD, and had it installed by a mechanic at our local dealer. The install went perfect, clutch works great, and you can barely even hear the noise after the break in period 500ish miles. He installed a new TOB with the clutch and I have had 0 issues to date, I can't even complain about the noise anymore. It grips like crazy, the noise is gone (maybe a .1 second little whine on sharp decels), and it can handle the almost 460ish/410 numbers I'm throwing at it. So, Exedy would have my vote. That tilton carbon does sound really interesting if money isn't an option though...

No I wouldn't SAY the big mac sucks but I Would assume it does. And clutches are slightly more expensive thing to test already muddied waters with. because i don't have a shop or have a garage to work on my car in so to "experiment" with a company that sells crap some of the time is just not what i wanna do. Because Clutch labor 2x and buying two clutches is more expensive than if i would have steered clear of the questionable product in the first place. Perfect example The genesis coupe. Its a Hyundai. Would i buy one hell no. should i probably give the coupe a chance definitely. But if a company makes crap most of the time you wont see me taking a chance on them. Sorry I would guess your probably a ACT vendor. Do you stock any other clutches? I'm looking to buy in the next 24hrs.
There is no assumptions needed when we have elimated the guesswork from clutch selection.
Coincidently we are installing two clutches right now when we are supposed to be closed. One ACT and the other a QM twin.
This is the first I'm hearing about this clutch.

I feel terible now by choosing act !
why ACT
