Spec single disc clutches
I tried to search but couldnt find anything except for the spec super twin,
I was just wondering if anyone has had experiance with any of the single disc clutches? Im looking to put a new clutch in my bolt on daily driver and was considering maybe a sepc stage 2+ or 3+, as ai wanna keep a full disc

I've been curious myself. They came out with that newer single disk lineup after I had already purchased my current replacement.
I like the look of the spec 2+, carbon-kevlar in a full disk with a sprung hub. 500 ft/lb torque capacity.

Wow, I just noticed that MAP offers a clutch fork stop for an $89 charge down there now where you order the clutch.

there are some local guys that seem to really like the spec single disc offerings. I have no experience with them but their cars aren't slouches (~119mph trap speeds) and it seemed like they were able to get through the gears pretty well.
edit--
talk to touringbubble (sp?) I believe he's got a stage 2 in his IX

I have a spec 3 in my Z28 and it's been a great clutch, but I've also read a few complaints about spec stuff over the years. I've had it probably 20k miles and after the initial break-in it's been great. The first 1000 miles were brutal, engagement was instant. Even shifting softly into 6th on the freeway would feel like you got kicked in the back. It drives close so stock now with a little more pedal pressure, but holds the power a lot better!
If you like the full-face Kevlar clutches check out the Competition Stage 3. I'm really liking mine for street and autocross duty, plus is quite a bit cheaper than the Spec. I'm rockin' one of MAP's clutch fork stoppers too (I actually have the first one their machine shop made
).

My Comp Stage 3 has been through some pretty hard and fast drives with rapid up/downshifts and the hotter it got the harder it grabbed! Kevlar makes a great friction material, it seems to love the heat and is very durable.
My brother has the stage 2+ in his 05 evo, he likes it. No issues, light pedal and see light track use. His evo is his daily so almost 20mins of bumper to bumper traffic everyday and he appreciates the light pedal and smooth engagement. On a side note, we sell alot of the SPEC to our local nissan customers (SR20det and RB25det) and they love it.

I'm using a spec clutch in my VW for ~4 yrs or so now.. no issues.
Although I should add, I would never buy another one again. (chattered like hell when it was new)
Reason: vw crowd has had ALOT of spec clutch failures
....alot
I've actually been pretty lucky
I'm sure there are more reputable clutches in the evo community than spec.
