Thats what I built my motor with custom wiseco pistons, and manley rods. I got around 10.3:1 cr for use with e85.

Aaron, did you change the calculator for the compression height of the Mahle piston?

I was wrong on my estimate... I figured about 6cc of dish for 1 Rc... it was closer to 9cc of dish per 1 Rc.

Using the Eagle calculator if I get some Custom Wiseco's that have a -9cc dish I'll end up right around 9.5:1

by JE's specs I figure a

1.13 Compression Height
85.5mm Bore
-10cc Dish
The piston will weigh approx 305grams
and be 9.4:1 Rc

Aaron can you PM me pricing on a set of custom JE's with the carillo H beam 156mm rods?

I just received my Howard's connecting rods from MAP. They look really nice and my set weighs 637g but they are standard 150mm. I like the massive 7/16 rod bolts and the use of the 6 bolt rod bearings, thats why I chose these. They come in a fancy case too haha

Sounds like a fun build sucka-foo! As long as you don't change your mind between now and the motor coming out!

Mahle pistons are 8.5. the 9.5 is incorrect.

What piston did you end up going with? I'm thinking about building my block into a 2.0LR but would like a 9.0 or maybe even 10.0 cr for E85

This is a bit old but I should have looked at this thread .

I have Wisecos 2.3's and 156mm Howards Rods with a 1.3mm headgasket and i am down on compression.

Does anyone have the Spec of of the shelf pistons or custom made pistons? In the uk they are using CP Custom made pistons but the price is a bit much.

Manley H-beams, +625 rod bolts, 156mm, 582 grams, good for 300hp a hole.
Carillo pistons SC7241 (.5mm over) flat top, 300 grams, around 10:1 with stock head gasket unshrouded valves, but I doubled up stock head gasket to reduce the quench a little so around 9.5:1 that way. Now you have wiggle room for a nice thick wrist pins

What's your target compression?

.003" rods .003" mains w/stock crank. 20w-50 brad penn. line hone the block 4g63's are never straight. That's good for 800hp
