^^ Thank's guys i have to bring it to a machine shop anyway to get it hot tanked and o-ringed and i'll see what he thinks. I've delt with him before for some other motors and i know he's done some fast 4863's in NY.

try putting a gasket on the head and see how much the edges were cut away.
I don't think he ported the head at all... I think he simply removed the casting bumps and smoothed it out.
The way the light reflects off the surface for the picture I think is quite deceiving.
Take a close up macro pic of the port floor, port ceiling, and the side of the walls. Post those up. Turn off the flash and put it under some good lights.

To me it doesnt look its even been pulled out the gasket in the first pic. Hard to tell though Walt, looking at your next picture it looks to me exactly as you described it just cleaned up.

I will bet you a dollar the gasket will overhand at all the red arrows. a good 3mm or more.
paper wheels cut corners away very rapidly. you should have bolted steel gasket to flange to avoid this.
head is not useless by no means. just wont be easy to correct this error.

Oh this is good.
The picture of the porting in post 20 is not even the same head!
the fubar port job was done on port 4. then he does some porting on another head for picture in post 20. those are ports 1 and 2.
funny stuff dude..
