Relocating the battery to the trunk was easier than expected. There are threads about them just search.

 

I have to put mine on a trickle charger..

 

I personally won't go with a mini battery. I have had an optima red top in my se-r since 2006. cranks strong every day, even with the crazy snow storms we've been getting here in the south.

 

No issues at all here. I'm running a Braille 15 lbs battery with a Nisei battery tray and have no problems. Car is parked outside all day every day. At home and at work. The car was buried in the Christmas weekend blizzard and it's been around 0 degrees the past few nights. No problems. It struggles a tad when it's this cold out, but ive experienced some stock sized batteries do this same thing in other cars, too. So far so good. I had an 11.5 lbs Braille before this, but I was lucky enough for a body shop to kill it. Hence my upgrade to the 15 lbs.
