Wanting to know if i do a cam install if i should do the 60k timing belt install also. My car is a garage queen and only put 3-5k a yaer max on it so it may be 5+ years b4 i hit 60k. Is it worth it or can i wait? Also if i get kelford 272s would i need upgraded valvetrain? thanks for the help

I would even if you don't drive it that much, besides you are already in there and got the belt undone.

Totally up to you... if you feel like spending the $ then I say go for it. It could wait though...

Also, Kelfords due require upgraded valvetrain due to the high lift.

Good luck

...the belt doesnt come off when i do it..id say keep belt on and save ur time...if no cracking then ur fine... just zip tie belt to cam gears so timing stays where it is and do ur r&r.. takes about 30 mins.. 60mins with head studs (1x1) method

I'd do at least a set of springs maybe with ti retainers if you got the cash. Timing belt...I'd say +1 for checking if it's cracked or not, but if you have the time and money, I'd just do it to get it out of the way. GL

No springs are required if not revving above stock limits
I say wait unless you want to do it. Its a lot more work to do the timing belt and tensioner (if leaking) and pulley. Then might as well do the water pump while youre there.

To remove the motor mount, a part of the sub frame and the timing belt cover is some labor. You need to do that to pop a plug out of the frame to remove the water pump pulley, just to remove the cover.

if your in there, you might as well do it. as for the valvetrain upgrade, i recommend it bc youll want to rev the sh** out of your motor with those bad boys in.

I would hinge this decision on what the belt looks like. It is a huge difference in work between a cam swap and timing belt replacement. If the belt doesn't look excessively worn I would probly just put the cams in. PS don't forget to bleed you lifters and buy The extreme psi timing belt tensioner tool, the AMS one is garbage

No need to remove the timing belt, just zip-tie the belt to the cam gears. The Kelford 272 camshafts are fine on the stock valve springs up to the stock rev-limiter according to Kelford. The stock rev-limiters vary, but 7800 was the highest and Kelford verified that was safe.

I was just going to say don't rev over 7800 rpms lol . I even think the stock rev limiter is 7796; and I guess since you're running the IX turbo, you won't make power over that anyways...at least I don't
