i only seem to find threads discussing full turbo back systems,
will a cat back system give any power to the car? i am going to do dp and high flow cat later. thinking of buschur fo everything.
i will also be adding hks evc v.

cat back do add power.
Things I look for is
size of piping,
sound
and if the muffler is straigh throw instead of being chambered.
I heard from many vendors like a 12 to 15 hp gain on the evo.

I am going to be completely honest here. We have no dyno'd our EVO with just our catback on it. We did some testing in stages when we started and have not gone back with the actual production parts and done them one at a time.
I am going to say this. We have worked with the 4g63 longer than ANYONE else doing EVO's in this country. We put alot of effort into the exaust for the car and have come up with the highest flowing, lightest weight system you are going to find.
I will say that whatever the maximum HP you are going to gain from an exhaust on your EVO is will be what ours put out. Is that like an answer you would get from a politician or what?! haha
Our cat back weighs in at only 16 pounds and is full 304 stainless steel and mandrel bent. Take into consideration the weight of the system when you are shopping too. The lighter the car gets the faster it is going to be and the longer it is going to take to wear out and break parts. The entire system is 24 pounds from the turboback.
I'm sorry that in this case I can't give you a real answer. I don't want to lie about it though.
Check out the exhausts on our website.

The AMS exhaust that we support gave a 12whp gain on the dyno.
We just produced a nice video of it, as well. It's in my signature. Sound, looks and quality is pretty important to a lot of us EVO owners, since we're not all just going to be drag racing our cars.

I have buschur's catback (he installed it himself on my car) and I'll definitely vouch for it. Butt dyno says it's great. No way to tell if I have more power but it's definitely a killer if you get some supporting mods. Alone, my car still felt faster off the line..
