I have not run the engine bay fan in my car for over a year and coolant temps have not been effected in anyway at all.

Certainly wouldnt crack the radiator by not running one

Well update. It's been raining in the bay area so I haven't been able to put the thermostat in. However of note after I tightened the ground on the transmission I havent overheated yet. I dunno what to think. Can't tell if the fan is coming on as it doesn't get in the hot area anymore. Even if I beat up on the car.

Changed the thermostat. Fans are coming on and the car isn't overheating anymore. New problem though.

Thing wont start. Tried and it dragged like a dead battery. See smoke coming from under the hood and I see this wire which looks like a ground burnt up.

It looks like a ground as it goes to the head, but a ground for what? Anyone know where it goes to?
