Supertech springs install questions

To those who have installed the super tech dual springs and retainers, regarding the seals with the kit, the box is marked that it includes 16 VS-H6.6E which seem like exhaust seals, because there is also a part number VS-H6.6I which are intake seals. Did anyone run in to this? Should I have gotten 8 of each or can I just use the seals that came with it for both exhaust and intake seals?

I just put in my kit this week. Mine also came with 16 VS-H6.6E seals. I emailed supertech and they said using the exhaust seals is fine. You just can't use the intake seals on the exhaust side.

"It is ok to use, exhaust seals in the intake side. However you can not usethe intake on the exhaust."

thank you for your reply, I just tried doing the exhaust side, filled the chamber with air, got the spring off with my spring compressor, I just couldn't get off the spring seat and the seal, any pointers for that, do i need a certain tool?

to get the seal off, you can use a long set of needle nose pliers.. to get the locater out just use a small magnet. As Martin said, your good on the seals. Use a 11mm deep socket with a long extension and with a hammer lightly tap them on. You'll here it when the seal is on because it will change tone when it hits the guide. Just make sure the socket is on them straight and you don't damage the spring that surrounds the top of the seal.

^+1. I pushed the seals on till you feel them "pop". It takes some effort. Then tapped them the rest of the way on with a socket.

To get the old seals off, I used pliers and lightly wiggled and twisted while I pulled up.

both seals are the same. Some company make the exhaust seals at higher temp. Been using Supertech dual valvesprings and their seals for 3 years in my race evo. No issues.

try buying a bike tube and cutting it a piece of it..install the valve locks into the retainer and lay it on the spring. Put the piece of runner over the assembly and put your install tool on top of it. It will keep the locks in place and you just have to push the locks down and release. Makes it so you don't have to worry about dropping one.

I have a valve tool that takes 20mins max to install all 16 locks. Its f**king expensive ($120us) and doesn't have a manufacturers name on the case but works like no other.
