Solution for boost leak at injector insulators

I have a persistent leak at the injector insulators and I'm only boosting 26psi.

I first replaced the insulators with OEM pieces, but they started leaking again, so I bought the Viton kit from FIC (I'm running PTE injectors) and then even those started leaking.

I tried installing the seal very carefully dry, and even with a little dab of oil so they don't catch. I've inspected the Viton seals after they started leaking and there is nothing wrong with them.

Is this an inherent problem with the Rochester styel injecor because of the fit into the OEM manifold?

Anyone have tips they can share? I'm sick of leaking boost and getting that fuel smell in my cabin at WOT.

Dont know if this would help but...

I also was having a leak on my stock injectors. I replaced the seals with new OEM's but at the same time I replaced the two black spacers. I put a slightly smaller spacer and washers so that the clamping down force is a little tighter.

You can probably try doing the same to help press down slightly tighter for a better seal. But dont go overboard. I'm talking about only a few millimeters...

Hope this helps.

^ I would try this as well... I'm running PTE 1200's and don't have any problems with leaking with the OEM seals... Good luck!

Thanks for the tip. Hopefully it helps. I can't stand not being able to boost right.

Mine leaked pretty bad and I never touched them either.

But after I replaced the seals it did not leak but that's not why I squeezed them down tighter. I just dont like how loose the Evo injectors sit so i replaced that spacer with something slightly smaller for a much tighter fit.

My PTE 880's haven't had any problems but I might try to replace the spacer as well cause I don't feel too comfortable being able to wiggle my injector after bolting it down lol... Good luck with it and let us know what you come up with!

I took some measurements the other day and I think I'm going to make some "fuel rail bushings" kinda like the shifter bushings but slightly smaller than stock to apply the extra pressure some people need to keep there injectors in without leaking.

Well that would end up being up to a vendor, since I am not. I tend to sell pieces and parts I have in my garage. Maybe Justin from Force-Fed would sell these? I'll ask him.

The injectors are supposed to be able to spin if installed properly. The fuel pressure at the top of the injector should hold the injector down when the engine is running.
