I had an unusual opportunity last weekend... I was instructing at an event and one student brought an STi and the other an EVO. Lots of back-to-back driving and riding ensued... the STis front LSD made an very important difference in several types of turns.
The "real" EVOs have had these for years... our market (pre-RS) is definitely loosing out. And, the lack of a front LSD is just one shortcoming - but the easiest to fix. IF it's available.
Cusco has one... but they are so difficult to get any definitive information from...
I did luck out and find two Hyper-Revs... one covering all the available parts and the other covering modifications.

The Kaaz front LSD works and fits BUT you have to use the rear dif as well. For some reason if you install front LSD only the center dif no longer functions as normal. Strange but true.

But the reason why i asked if the evo would benefit from a front lsd is because i remember reading a magazine article that stated that one of the reasons why the STi understeers more than the evo is because of the front lsd.

I'd like to see a f/r split of 30/70 anyway.

Frankly, I'd prefer the full ACD/AYC setup. This isn't the supercar the rest of the world gets without these very critical components.
Ours is a good performer, but not a stellar performer all things considered. The full-blown package performs better in every measure. How much it would cost is another story..
There's also a 300-HP package available in some parts of the world that would be interesting... but perhaps won't pass our emissions specs.
