Just like to know if I decide to drag with the car

Is it 2.3L stroker engine much harder on the Tranny & Transfer case then If I decide to rebuilt my 2.0L to drag specs ?

#2
Which would last longer in the long run or is there not much of a difference ?

Thanks in advance

If you want to drag than build a 2.0..You can rev to the moon with it..2.3 is really nice for quicker spool and tq..

^This pretty much sums it up. If you plan to drag the car the higher you can rev the better off you will be.

If you want more torque but still want to rev it out, a 2.1 may not be a bad choice.

As far as which one will last longer, it really depends on how you drive the car and how its maintained. Torque is what kills drivetrains however so does driver abuse.

2.3L motor is the wrong motor for a drag car.. 2.0L / 2.1L is best bet..

more torque means more stress on the drivetrain, so 2.3 will be more torque, BUT not the most feasable motor for drag racing

If your shifting your stock turbo car at 7900 your missing the shift point by approx 700rpm.. Just some advice.. try 7200 and youll be faster..

2.3 is good for spoolin huge turbos, at lower rpm's and it can be good for drag racing but you just can not rev it to 10,000 rpm like the 2.0 and 2.1. So if you want to achieve the results of a 2.0, you might have to change the gear ratios, and make them taller, since you can not rev that high.

Actually not.. the RARE 4g63 Block is going for 800.00 or more where the 4g64 for the 2.1L is going for 300.00.. The 2.1L isnt anything more than a custom headgasket needed and some small cheap parts..

John Shepard has a 2.3 in his personal evo and with a 3586 runs 9.5's at 151. I think that is pretty good for a 2.3, but I also would like to see it with a little bigger turbo?? I think the 2.3 is a good motor with the right gearing in the trans.
