Can you post a link of the new system? I'd welcome other wmi makers stepping up the delivery method over the regular pump speed method.

It's the small tube on the aquamist kits. It attaches to the head of the pump

Very informative and factual post with evidence to back it all up. Almost 3years and 35k miles of 100% methanol injection on my Evo with my Aquamist hfs-1 kit.

Coolingmist has another new part that I think is probably for that purpose. It is a beautiful stainless solenoid operated valve for 50 bucks.
This. Interesting that they have an add-on solenoid on what is essentially a progressive pump speed system. Would be interesting to see how it works I guess, but by 'interesting' I mean I don't want it on my car

You have posted more *actual* info on these and other forums than all the other WMI manufacturers combined, so yes, please share! I welcome other manufacturers to this discussion as well.

They kinda dance around the progressive pump thing. Sounds like pressure in the pump will always be high, but pressure in the line (and at the nozzle) I doubt it, there's still no on/off valve near the injection point. They must almost have a solenoid on the actual pump that they can progressively open with their controller.

Not yet unfortunately. After the BBX and MAP downpipe I am out of mod $$ for a while. Tuning the car at DB Performance tomorrow for pump gas, I'll rock it like that for a while, not sure where I'll go next. I'd *LOVE* to put one in though as the trunk has the perfect spot for a nice big tank once a mini battery is in.

actually i think there is an on off valve near the injection point, unless what im thinking is just a check valve. Its this long plastic thing that goes in between the line near the nozzel.

search for "806-409" on http://www.howertonengineering.com/aquamist_parts.html

its a small spring loaded unit that pressurises under pump pressure and then keeps the line pressurised when the pump turns off...

Ok so it basically stores pressure but you need a control valve to make it work properly. There is also no electrical connection because I'm assuming its all mechanical. Is this all correct?

806-409 is purely mechanical.

but yes you need a solenoid/valve at the jet end otherwise the pressure would be released immediately

the Aquamist kit has a FCM (Flow Control Module) which is an electronic solenoid able to be pulsed at different duty cycles to allow for different rates of flow. So when its closed the pump keeps the line primed, and when the pump is off the 806-409 part keeps the line primed.

That way the Aquamist is "instant on"
