HAVE A LOOK. Shops Cant Answer, Trouble Going in Gear.

Noone has an answer for me, hopefully someone has had the same issue. On occasion, much more as of late, 05 Evo 8 wont slip into any gear. Has a low mileage Works CK2 clutch with no signs of trouble. Tranny is prime and no metal on the magnet, goes in gear with car off easily. One shop thought the clutch fluid was vapor-locked, so we flushed the Brake/Clutch fluid and replaced with ATE Super Blue racing fluid, Changed tranny fluid as well. problem went away until this morning. Can gear in and turn car on, usually opens the problematic area up and works well, but is now having more trouble starting. Slave Cylinder, Throw-off pivot bearing have all crossed my mind, nobodys sure, any help would be appreciated, ask if more info is needed. thanks, Andrew.

do you have someone that can help you?
push the clutch and make sure the clutch arm is actually moving.
or you could jack the car up in the air, and put it in gear. get someone to try and spin the wheels. if they can't, then push on the clutch to make sure it's disengaging etc

on type of manual tranny failure does NOT show metal shavings in oil is blocking ring failure.

More than likely a bent shift fork/rail.

If its happening for all gears, most likely look at clutch condition/installation, and the pedal adjustment. Clutch is the first thing I'd look into if it affects each gear. If its only a certain gear or two then look into forks/shafts and such.

adjust the pedal. move the screw out of the pedal (moving the pedal up further). this will give you more slave cylinder throw and allow the clutch to disengage further. most likely the reason you cant get it in gear with it running is because the clutch is still grabbing slightly, so tranny is spinning with the engine. i bet if you try really forcing it into gear with it running the car will want to lurch forward a bit...

Pedal adjustment and check your shifting cables/lines, bushings and such.

if i push into gear slots it will lurch. it works in every gear perfect, or none at all. i dont think its a fork problem. today, i started it with it in first and it rolled further before turning over and kept on going, it was in first, pedal had no effect on the clutch. turned it off at my gate, started in first again and after a slight but noticable clunk it opened up and everything started to work perfectly.

I decided to bleed my clutch the other day. got air in the lines, and its doing the same thing. adjusted the pedal out, and its a bit better, but still does the same thing. if i start the car when in gear, it works fine. if its in neutral its a ***** to get into gear. another weird part, is when i had the front of the car jacked up a bit to bleed the clutch, i started it and it worked perfect. set it on the ground, no worky.

sounds like a similar problem, if you find an answer be sure to let me know, and ill do likewise. i dont think it can be anything serious, because when it works, it works flawlessly.
