Please Advise - Will this affect Oil Suction?

Hi,
refer to the attached picture, can anyone advise will this affect the oil suction and how to resolve this problem?
My engine oil pan is not dented and just wonder why the pipe in the photo is touching the base of the oil pan?

Please advise how to resolve this problem.

Thank you.

Is that the stock pickup? That definitely has to be fixed

I think so and any idea how to fix it up for the sake of long term durability?

We actually suspect this is the main problem which affect my low oil pressure.

Yea this would cause low oil pressure. Did you check all your bearings?

I would just try to give the pickup a little bit of a bend to get some clearance. If that doesn't work, you might want to give one of the more well known builders a call and ask if they've seen this before.

i think you should replace that pickup. if that is not at the correct distance, you'll be in trouble.

I can diffidently say it isn't zero.

I'd suggest trying to find a way to check both the pickup and the pan from another engine. You might have gotten the wrong pan from the maker.

I agree that this is causing your low pressure issue..

Your positive that your pan isn't dented, or the car was lifted from the pan by accident??

Whoa, get a new pickup now. There will be loss of suction now, when the oil doesn't surround the entire gap opening in the pickup. You will not maintain oil pressure if that happens.

The early 4g63 pickups look just like your cut one. So it is not a problem. Only if pan gets dented more it will be easier to starve pickup completely. I had a customer years ago that jacked his early 4g63 car up on oil pan for his first oil change. He had max of 30psi oil pressure and drove the car for two weeks before bearings got noisy and needed changing.
