So the engine had low compression of Cylinder #2 and the clutch disks were worn out. So we pulled the motor and the trans for the rebuild. The issue with the engine was the head gasket and a warped deck.

Some specs on the motor

it's a 2.4 4G64 block and crank .20 over
Manly I Breams
Weisco Pistons

Port Polish Head
Crower springs retainers
272 cams
Ferrea +1 valves
Cometic Head Gasket (I may live to regret)

I did new pistons bearings, valves, guides, and seals. As for the machining work cylinder hone, seat and guide resurface and ream.

As far as the turbo setup its a TS GT4088
It's probably a bit much for the street but I'll still have fun with it anyway.

nice seeing more build threads here!

I highly recommend using the factory mitsu head gasket. (but you seem to know that already)
Believe it or not, the GT4088r (in appropriate exh A/R) will actually (from my experience) spool quicker than a 35r in T4. Only issue we had was power falling off in the top end. A 4094r holds it out better. It was really decent w/ spool on a 2.3l stroker motor. I was surprised.

Yea I wanted to even O-Ring the head but I couldn't get someone to do it w/ a quick turn around.

the turbo is the one that came w/ the car so I'm going to stick w/ it, but if anything happens to/ with it I may try your 4094R suggestion.

I also did upgrade to a COP, and a full blown double pumper w/ -8 supply, -6 return line. Out of curiosity how much power have you made with a stroker and the 4088 on pump gas, or E85?

I've seen a couple TS GT35R's make about 600whp on 93 octane I'm hoping to at least get that.

So a couple of progress photos, adn an update.

After a new starter and a mysterious oil leak behind the intake manifold (machine shop left our a screw plug) she is alive.

I defiantly need to work on the tune a little but it's not bad.

Thanks to Ryan for the great work!

The wiring still needs to be cleaned up. the car overall is far from done we just wanted to get it running to see if there are any mechanical issues. Eve from a reliability standpoint I'm not going to leave loos wires hanging.

There is alto of work to be done, but now I can dive it to the painter and work on the wiring while it's there. I also didn't spend that much on looks. My total bill from the powder coater was just over 200 plus 30 extra on a timing cover(after I sold my old one).

A wire tuck would do wonders for your engine bay! Looking good though.

I'm hoping to finish up the wiring and the paint job in two to three weeks. In the mean time here are some progress pics of the new fuel filter, catch can, mustache bar, front cross member, and battery

Well its going ok. I'm driving it now, although the starting is terrible. I'm not an amateur tuner but getting this thing dialed in right is proving to be more than difficult.
