what year galant motor?

i am thinking about getting a 2.4l making it into 2.1L for my Evo and built it..

What year cars work?

What do i need for it too work in my Evo besides change the cam gears?

can someone send me links to where to destroke a motor? like were to buy the parts

what car should i get the 88mm crank shaft from? or where can i get it?

can i use my Evo Crank? or can i use it out of the car i pull it out of? or do i need a custom Crank?

If you mean the galant years block you need from the 2.4l its 1999-2003 or you can use the 2000-2005 eclipse block...Im doing a evo 8 head on my galant 2.4l block right now with adjustable cam gears.Thats really all you will need up top and an adaptor for the water pump...Now if you want a 2.1l thats a whole different story going inside the block

no they are both 2.4l. only way to get a 2.1l is to stroke your stock 2.0l block.

This is true 88mm crank with 156mm rods and 2.3l pistons make a de-stroker motor

I can get you part # for the crank if you want I think it cost about 400 bux from mitsu new. You might want to contact Mike@AWD on here, he has a bunch of cranks and can get you one at an extremely good price.

You will need 162mm rods in the above to be correct.

162mm rods, and that's pretty much how it works.

1996 Kia sonata
2003 eclipse
Various galants

I bought a 64 block in good condition from a junk yard for 350$.

Theres alot more years of those cars that the 4g64 comes in. 2g non turbo spyders have 4g64s, all 00-05 rs/gs eclipse have 4g64's, dodge stratus's, galants You can find a 4g64 block in almost every junk yard if you know what cars to look for.

2g spyder dsms did bring the a 4g64 block but do not have the previsions to mount the power steering A/c and alternator correctly. and chysler did stick a 4g64 in a sebring convertible but not in a stratus.

If your looking for a DOHC 4g64 that you can use cam gears ect.. you can look for a 4g64 out of a KIA optima or a Hyundai Sonata 2.4l. these have a DOHC Mitsubishi head with the correct timing belt and cam gears .
