If there is pressure accumulation on the discharge side of turbine before the turbo spools, that reflects a different issue altogether.

Different cams will probably have the most effect.

I thought increasing the SCR did increase the heat. That is why guys with Aluminum heads can run a higher SCR as opposed to the Iron head guys because of the better cooling of the aluminum heads.

The heat associated with compressing a gas is adiabatic heat, just as a turbo's compressor heats the air when the PR is increased. What residual heat that remains from that during the exhaust stroke won't spool the turbo.

That type of heat is small as compared to the heat of combustion and the EGT associated with it.

I see, so running a higher CR will not affect spool in anyway. But will give more torque down low as to take away some of the feelings of lag before the trubo is spooled, correct?

A bump in SCR by one full point (e.g. 9:1 -> 10:1) typically gives a 5% improvement in torque across the board, all else being equal, so that helps to offset the effect of the reduction in EGT. The aggravating factor is of course, the fuel octane required to stay clear of the detonation threshold.

A lighter material shaft/turbine/compressor wheels.

If you find a turbo with billet or titanium internals generally it will spool faster than a regular cartridge.

Recently a shop for 3000gt/Stealths came out with some new turbos with titanium/aluminide internals and they spool QUUUIIICK. A stock internal/stock head/stock cam Stealth is making 500 awtq at 3400 rpm and made 606 awhp on pump gas (+ meth). (650 awtq@ 4200) This was @ 25 psi. They spool much more quickly than any other similarly sized turbos that have been available for the 3/S.

3500 rpm, 25 psi in about a half second.

It makes more torque earlier than a head/cam'd viper.

Yeah, my 91oct tune doesn't like more then 22psi. Luckily e85 is available at the gas station right next to my house. Just not looking forward to having to run 91 for the winter lol

The smaller the P shoot the faster it will spool but also the less horsepower you going to make.

Yes. It's about the right combination of parts for the turbo.

What works for one turbo, may or may not work for another. Each built and setup is different. This is what makes automotive modding so exciting and unique.

Cool, I think you talking about my bother in law Eric. Amazing machine and INCREDIBLE spool. Gotta love a 3.0 displacment engine.
