I believe it was from a taurus or something like that, It was right under the front bumper. But I've noticed that a lot of other cars have the same type of pump. My sisters 08 328xi has the same looking pump, it looks identical but probably has a different part number.

One more thing is that i believe its bad to run the pcv system connected back to the intake, because all of the fumes that are being pushed out are going right back in to the engine and lowering your octane rating. You might think that the catch can is stopping that but all its doing is catching only some of the oil that got pushed through.

Stock form is probably the worse because all of the oil and fumes get sucked in to the motor directly through the intake manifold and the turbo, even though the valve cover is baffled. you can look inside your intake manifold and I guarantee you it's covered with oil on the inside. Mitsubishi and all other companies use this way because they can relieve the crank case pressure withought effecting emissions. You can't rely on a system that was designed for a stock motor, because a stock motor is going to have much less blowby than a built motor or a motor that's generating much more hp than stock, like most evos on here do.

Few drinks down and this idea came to mind.... design a catch can with a small high speed fan/jet (like the RC planes..lol).... run it off the battery with a boost switch so as u build boost u shut the power off .... sort of opposite to the double pumper setup...lol ...... or setup an input for it on the ecu and run it based on rpm/vacuum......u get the idea!
on a serious note.... very nice discussion going on here!

If you read a bit further, you'll find that the BMW smog pumps are much longer lasting than the GM/Ford ones. This seems like it could be a solution if there is a place to put it, although I still like the simplicity of the exhaust scavenging system because it negates the need for a catch can.

^ Eh thanks M you made my day It only sees sunny days here which isn't often (enough).
The amount of oil I see out of the Hals cap and Fairclough fitting makes me think twice about an exhaust scavenge or dumping to ground though on this setup. I may ditch the Hals and just try the Fairclough fitting like 240ZTT is thinking about doing. And depending the amount of oil the Moroso can sees I may just ditch it to and run the tranny side vent right to the intake pipe. Until I get a pump.. hehe

i just drained my saikou michi cans for the first time today (maybe 100 miles and 10 or so 3-4th gear pulls). i was kind of surprised by the amount that came out, probably a shot glass or two worth of oil looking fluid, more from the trans side port. i do have a kiggly, 63k miles stock turbo on 24psi...i do think i forgot to drain it since i picked it up used tho. does that sound like a lot of fluid? i previously had the stock piping to intake from valve cover, and my intake was dry as a bone always.
overall the car definitely has a new snappiness to it thankds to following mrfred's setup.
