pressure plate or slave cylinder??

im just tryin to get some educated advice. my tc started whining so i pulled it and sent it off to have it fixed. while the car was down i went ahead and painted my faded front calipers. i pulled them off the car so i could take them to work to do this. got tc back and installed everything. everything went great with install but now i notice if im sitting on level ground and not holding brakes, when i push the clutch in and put it in gear the car starts to creep forward just a little. if i take it out of gear and leave clutch pressed and put it back in gear it will not creep. only the first time after i push the clutch in. shifts fine with no noises or anything. i have re-bled everything and it still happens. my first thought was slave cylinder but a few people have told me my pressure plate is starting to collapse. i have only had car for about 8k and i was told new clutch was installed about 15k before i got it. and i dont remember ever having this issue before it was down. just wondering if anyone has had this problem before. thanks in advance

Sounds like the clutch is dragging ever so slightly. Assuming you bled all the air bubbles out then you may need to adjust the engagement sightly higher.

have not done that. the clutch feels the same as always and lets out about 3 inches or so from the floor. think i still need to adjust it? and as far as air being in there, i have bled the thing to high heaven. did it manually after the install. did it manually again after i noticed the problem. then used vacuum bleeder after it still didnt go away. with all that it does it. will adjust clutch pedal this afternoon and see if that fixes. thanks for the input guys

Did you put a new flywheel in or have it resurfaced? Sometimes you need to shim the clutch fork pivot ball. I would try to bleed everything, maybe upgrade the clutch line and replace the slave before anything major..

yeah. clutch has been bled several times. and i didnt change flywheel or anything. i just pulled my tc off to send it to be rebuilt. and car has steel braided lines on all 4 wheels and clutch line. another weird thing i noticed is if i leave clutch pressed in and pull it out of gear after it started to move then put it back in gear it will not move. its only the first time i put in gear after i push in the clutch. and just so its clear it bearly moves when it does move. i just know its not supposed to. ima re-bleed all the brakes and the clutch again on my lunch break monday. i really think its gotta be something to do with that. like i said it wasnt doing it before i removed tc and brake calipers. and it was one of the first things i noticed on the first test drive. thanks for the suggestions.

ok. put car on jack stands to see what was going on. it is def only the first time i put it in gear after i push the clutch in. tires will roll over just a little then stop. if i dont let out on the clutch and put it back in gear nothing happens. tires wont move even if i rev it up. its ONLY the first time i put it in the gear after i push the clutch in. and i bled clutch again just to see if anything would happen but still same result.

I've had a hell of a time getting my clutch right on my gst. Had an RPS clutch, the finger retainer ring broke on that, the current ACT 2600 i have is good, but i cant get the hydraulic end of things right, it still doesn't disengage enough unless there is no pedal play, which in an eclipse is no good. I wish you the best of luck, did you find out if the PP was bad?
