Race Gas question

okay, trying to see if i've got phantom knock, so i'm going to try race gas. I found some 109 octane stuff, and i've got about half to three quarters of a tank of 93 in the car right now. would 5 gallons of the 109 be enough to add to it, or do i need to run the tank down more first?

I think it would be best to run the tank down some more, that's a lot of gas and it might just dilute most the effect of the 109 (will still bump your effective octane tho)

If you take it to half and add 5 gallons of 109 you get a 97+/- octane mix. That should be enough to see if it's phantom or not.

You could always just drain the old fuel out, there is a drain plug on both sides of the tank. Makes it easy to do your fuel swap that way. No need to mix it really when its so easy to drain. My .02
