Turbo Time
Turbo Time
Hey Guys,
In the new year ill be looking at getting a Turbo, Intercooler and some injectors,
I have an issue im not sure which turbo to get out of the 2 im looking at,
ATP GT3582R Kit or the ATP GT3037S Kit, (these are the kits not the stock location turbos)
Im currently making around 350awhp VD and want to make around 450-500 and that will be all im wanting out of the car at this time,
So with my mods in my Sig which turbo would you choose?
Also How much difference in lag between the 2?

Don't get the ATP turbos....either get an FP turbo based on your goals or get a setup from buschur, ams, et al...
You can look at my dyno graph with the HTA Green and stock motor - 450+whp! My guess is you'd be pretty close on pump and more with e85 or meth.

you can get a stock frame turbo and make your 400-500 and not have the lag a t3 kit will make nor the price tag. if you want fast spool and this is going to be 91-93 octane then hta green will get you in the range if you know your going to want just a bit more top end and your on stock block fp red hands down the fp black is only 200 rpms laggier then the red just to let you know
6262 will be way to big if your only looking for just 450-500. I would recommend a 35R for that power. You can make the power with a 3076 but you will be pushing close to 30psi for the 500 range. If you plan on pump gas, the 35R would be your best bet.
Thanks,
Michael
Thanks,

Awesome thats not bad at all,
I used to own a 2ltr STI with a 35R and it didnt hit full boost till about 4800-5000 so im kinda used to the lag, and with my cams ill extend the limiter out to about 8k
Michael i will be in touch in the new year,
Cheers mate, oh and if you dont mind, can PM a price on the kit with 35R and anything else i need except intake ill take care of that, shipped to Australia, NSW, 2262
Thanks mate

I don't understand why you'd put something as laggy as a 35R on a stock 2.0 where you can't safely run the optimum boost for that turbo. Seems like the worst of both worlds to me... but each to their own
I would have thought a HTA Green/Red, BBK full or BBK-B would be the ideal solution based on your mods. Do you have plans to go a built 2L or bigger later?

Later i would like to add a 2.2 stroker to my mod list, but that would be looking more towards the end of next year,
Upper 4000 spool time isnt that laggy with a 8000rpm rev cut, it should launch on boost then keep on boost with each gear change and i also have room for improvement once the engine gets built
Also the HP figures in AUS compared to US are different, on the dyno at my work place my car put down 306hp but VD said it was 350hp, so i want 450hp on my dyno which seems to be about 500hp in the US
