MY......girlfriends 05 evo 8.5 MR ballin on a budget build
Build started with a used car dealership selling us the car and 9 days later the input shaft bearings in the trans seized up on us due to no fluid in the trans. After finding out how much the dealership charges for a new trans I started searching the interwebz to find a cheaper route. My searched came to a end at AWD motorsports, rebuilt trans for $1500. At the same time I was searching for a trans I read about all the t-case failure and I decied to pick up a new t-case with a harden ring and pinion for a really good price thanks to mike at AWD! During one of my long nights of craigslist searching I came across a low mileage (16k) evo9 long block, harness and ecu for $1500. After what happen to the trans I no longer trusted any of the drivetrain reliability of the original parts with the vehicle so I picked up the swap. I wanted to powder coat the valve cover while I was waiting for the trans so I went ahead and removed it. What do you know ARP head studs..now that really got me thinking. I went ahead and bought some ACL rod, main bearings and ARP rod bolts now that I did not know what kind of abuse this motor took. While removing the pan I discovered the bottom end had ARP rod bolts, manely rods, wiseco pistons, balance shaft delete! Woohoo! Now that I know the motor is pretty much built I went ahead and ordered GSC behive springs, S2 camshalfts and a gates timing belt.
I trust no one with the car im doing everything myself, not even having friends help me. So far this is the mod list
Evo9 engine, harness, ecu
manely rods
wiseco pistons
ACL main bearings
ACL rod bearings
ARP rod bolts
ARP headstuds
AMS balance shaft eliminator

I actually tried the other day to get the plates herrafrush for the car but I couldn't shorten it enough to make sense in 7 letters. I got FATLACE instead because im working on getting the car a sponsorship through a buddy of mine that's sponsored by them.

Oh im not really worried about getting anything besides the publicity but free stuff is always nice. I already get car parts from a few shops from my work, friends that are pro and drifting. I wanna do HERRA SMOKE on my drift car
