What is the best location for a BOV?
Close to the TB or turbo outlet?
I was under the impression close to the TB, But the new BW EFR hace the BOV on the turbo outlet?

Any comments please?

 

By the turbo outlet. Assume two setups on two different cars, 1 with the BOV at the turbo and 2 after 15' of piping and an intercooler, by the TB.

Both setups hit boost and tear through a gear and now its time to shift, let off the throttle and the bov's open. The turbo's are at this point both spinning at the same rpm. Turbo 1 has an outlet right at the compressor and has no restriction to flow so all of the air escapes as the compressor wheel starts to slow down. Turbo 2 has an outlet after 15' of piping and an intercooler (aka restriction) and it has to force the air through the restriction which soaks up additional energy (in terms of shaft speed) from the turbo. If I have explained this correctly, it should make perfect sense that Turbo 1 loses less shaft speed during and can reach full boost faster.
