FWIW I am going with the AMS F1 IM. Makes 5% more over the entire powerband then their old unit at 15psi, sounds good to me. They used to advertise the old unit to make 40-60whp depending on level of tune. The other popular IM is the Driven Innovations if you haven't seen that one yet. Also I remember seeing a IM shoot out for the EVO a while back and the Hypertune IM made the most power, however it was the only one that didn't use the stock TB in the shootout. I would like to hear from some people that the only change was the IM and TB. That would help us confirm which unit to buy.

 

Cant go wrong with either..I run the Magnus.

My tuner just got the F1 in the mail that I'm installing tomorrow and it's a really nice unit. Casting is kinda ehh on the velocity stacks, But not bad, it is cast btw. But the V5 has proven itself with setting alot of records. So like was said, can't go wrong.

The car should be tuned withn a week, he(4doorbullet) will post redults when he gets around to tuning it.(gt3076r, comp 280, ete fmic, f1, 30psi, pump, built 2L).

I'll defenitly be getting a AMS F1 for my set up below.

They both look like solid pieces but keep in mind the magnus is going to require a little adjustment of the UICP since its got the angle in the flange

 

What a lot of people don't understand is that AMS says it made 60whp... They didn't tell you that was at the 1000whp level. We know for a fact the v5 is good for 45whp at the 500whp level. I'll see if I can find the back to back my buddy did.

Personally I love the v5. Takes some work to install but I think it is great at making power. Hell, I just broke a record with it yesterday!

Screw "adjusting" the UICP just get the short route ETS UICP that is made for the magnus, it's also 3" shorter. My back to back, which I can't find at the moment, I didn't lose any spool when I did the manifold and the ETS Short Route UICP. Also get Michael at ETS to weld a 50mm flange on the pipe for a good 50mm Tial or TurboSmart BOV that everyone should have! You have to be running SD to use the 50mm BOVs

It is all about keeping the airflow smooth. The v5 does that better than the AMS. But Marco, when he designed it, wanted it to make the most power. Even it that means some extra work to get everything to fit. Well worth the pain in the *** if you ask me.

I would do the magnus. There are a few adjustments to some hoses and stuff you need to make but its not as difficult as the AMS F1 manifold to install. The DI, no thanks I will pass on a sheetmetal unit.
